On the 25th May, 2018 the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect which regulates what information is collected, stored and used related to personal data.  We have all been subject to unwanted emails, phonecalls, text messages and worse due to companies and individuals using our personal data so this will, hopefully, reduce this annoyance to our personal life.

Here is the Bod Gwynedd we have strict policies related to the storage and use of our guests data and thus welcome the opportunity to update and inform our guests how we are taking, storing and using their personal information. 

What Personal data do we collect?

When you book a room via our website  or one of the Online Travel Agents (OTA) we use  to facilitiate your request, your full name along with home address, email  and contact number(s)  will be taken and stored on an encrypted database provided by  the services of Queensborough Group, 14 Bury New Road, Breightmet, Bolton, BL2 6QB.  Similar data may be taken and held via the Online Agent you choose and for this you will have to check their compliance with the new regulation.

In addition to your personal details your method of payment will be taken, validated, encrypted and held in a secure database by Stripe Payments (UK) Ltd , 9th Floor, 107 Cheapside, London, EC2V 6D.  Card details are used to reserve the room(s) however no payment is taken unless  the room is cancelled within the full payment period or incase of a "no show". Guests are required to pay for their stay on departure with the stored card details being used as a backup incase of omission or damage to property.

How we use your Personal Data

Email addresses provided are used to contact the guest prior to arrival to confirm the date of and time of arrival, if any dietary requirements are needed, to suggest places to visit and eat and to make guest aware of our Terms and Conditions.

Mobile numbers are used to contact guests on or prior to the Date of Arrival to  warn them of travel issues, enquire about the journey and arrival time.

We will not sell, distribute, lease or release your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

We use social media to inform our past guests of events or special offers and periodically send emails to announce new products or features or with return visit enticements.  Guests have the option to opt out of our marketing programs when they stay with us and at anytime when they receive an email.

Booking Policy

Our cancellation policy is 2 weeks prior to your stay when booking direct and 30 days before when booking via online booking agents. At 14 or 30 days before your stay full payment will be taken from the registered card and is non-refundable. We always advise our guests to take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances to do with pets, family, transport and illness. If payment cannot be taken we will attempt to contact you to correct the issue. If we are unable to take payment within 24 hours the booking will be cancelled.
By booking a room or rooms with ourselves you are agreeing to abide by our Terms & Conditions detailed on our website at www.bodgwynedd.com/terms. We ask that you read them prior to arrival.
